First days after SMILE

After one or two days, the visual acuity is often quite good - and stable within a month. For a few days after the tratment, antibiotic and artificial tear drops are applied.

Most patients only notice a slight foreign body sensation in the first few days. Increased glare and reduced night vision are often observed in the first few weeks and can occur especially in patients with very large pupils and higher corrections.

The first follow-up examination takes place the following day in our clinic. After approximately one week you will be taken to a follow-up examination, which will be completed after two to three months. Of course, your ophthalmologist can also do the follow-up examinations.
