Who is a good candidat?

The ideal candidate for LASIK is over 20 years old and has had stable eyeglass or contact lens values for more than two years.

He is myopic or hyperopic (i.e. with values between -8 and +4 dpt.), has a astigmatism or a combination of these visual defects.

There are no eye or general illnesses that prevent the procedure, and the corneal thickness is sufficient.

Those who inform themselves about the risks and possibilities and know that the main goal of the procedure is to lose their dependence on visual aids will be very satisfied with the result of the operation.

Exclusion criteria are:

Patients with advanced glaucoma or certain retinal diseases should not undergo surgery. During pregnancy and lactation we recommend postponing the preliminary examination. The correction must also be carefully considered for patients with autoimmune diseases. In younger patients with unstable ametropia or in patients with a temporary infection of the eye, it is sometimes advisable to wait and see and postpone the decision to surgery.
