What can happen during refractive lens exchange (RLE)?
The process of lens exchange is identical to that of cataract treatment. The cataract operation is the most common operation ever.
Modern procedures have significantly reduced the risk of actual complications, but as with any surgical procedure, they can never be completely ruled out. These include infection, bleeding, retinal detachment, astigmatism, increased intraocular pressure, etc. can all be treated. As a rule, these can all be well controlled by countermeasures.
