Is the SMILE treatment safer than LASIK?
The corneal opening is significantly smaller (<3 mm) with the SMILE method than with LASIK (20 mm). The cornea remains stable and the tear flow remains intact.
Although flap complications are very rare in LASIK incisions, they are completely excluded in SMILE treatment due to the keyhole technology.
100% femtosecond technology: The SMILE procedure exclusively uses a femtosecond laser. The femtosecond technology is considered the most modern, safest and most precise method for the correction of ametropia worldwide.
