The aim of refractive surgery is to lose dependence on visual aids. As with any intervention on the human organism, there is no guarantee of 100% success.
However, approximately 97% of our patients have sufficient natural vision without glasses after the operation. Many have a visual acuity of 100% and more.
For the remaining patients, a post-operative correction usually leads to the desired success. Nevertheless, expectations should be realistic, since refractive corrections cannot guarantee perfect visual performance or an eagle eye in every situation.
Also, presbyopia cannot be completely corrected. However, it is possible to correct one eye for distance and the other for proximity (monovision) or to use multifocal intraocular lenses. This enables patients over 40 years of age to live without glasses in everyday life.
